Draftsman, Quantity Surveyor, Document Controller

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and update Shop Drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Work within BIM environments to produce accurate 3D project models.
  • Modify and coordinate drawings based on approved changes and field revisions.
  • Extract and prepare precise Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from both 2D drawings and BIM models.
  • Regularly update quantity take-offs in line with project progress and variations.
  • Support Procurement and Estimation Teams with accurate and up-to-date BOQ reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of interim payment certificates (IPC) and project claims.
  • Manage and archive all technical documents (drawings, specifications, reports, submittals, technical correspondence).
  • Implement an effective classification and filing system (both hardcopy and electronic).
  • Ensure proper version control and consistent updates of all technical documents.
  • Track and document submittal workflows and approval cycles.
  • Generate regular reports on document status.
  • Work closely with Technical Office Engineers and Site Teams to support the adoption of BIM models in project planning and execution.
  • Participate in the review and updating of BIM models in coordination with consultants.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in contracting companies in the following areas:
  • Shop Drawing preparation (AutoCAD + Revit).
  • BOQ preparation and Quantity Surveying.
  • Document Control and Technical Document Management.
  • BIM workflow support (Intermediate to Advanced level preferred).
  • Proficiency in:
  • AutoCAD (Professional level).
  • Revit (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Advanced Excel (for quantity analysis and reporting).
  • Document Management Systems (DMS).
  • Familiarity with Navisworks is a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret all types of engineering drawings (Architectural, Structural, MEP).
  • Excellent organizational and data management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight project deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with project teams.
