Planning, Scheduling & Cost Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Prepare and regularly update execution plans aligned with project objectives; track actual progress against baseline plans.
  • Generate and analyze performance reports (S-Curves, Earned Value Analysis) to assess schedule performance.
  • Establish and maintain cost control plans and monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Analyze schedule and cost variances and recommend corrective actions to maintain project targets.
  • Coordinate closely with execution teams, finance, and technical office to ensure alignment of plans and reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive periodic progress reports for senior management and clients.
  • Participate in the preparation and ongoing review of project budgets and forecasts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of claims with supporting time and cost analysis.
  • Support procurement planning to align material deliveries with project schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and recognized standards in project planning and cost management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Architectural / Project Management) from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and cost control within medium to large contracting companies.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential) and MS Project.
  • Advanced skills in cost analysis and reporting tools (Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of project life cycle, contract management, and progress billing.
  • Proven analytical and decision-making abilities based on accurate data analysis.
  • Good knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams and senior management.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
